We founded the company (Then called Professional Resource Network) in 1998 to provide Pharmacy staffing services to hospitals in need. We have been helping various hospitals in Texas by sending registered Pharmacists and Certified Technicians whenever they experience a staffing shortage.

Our move into Remote Pharmacy Staffing:

Soon the Professional Resources Network team found that many of our client hospitals might have a difficult time getting accredited by the JCAHO or even lose their accreditation because of the new standards that require a pharmacist to review each and every medication order before it is administered by a nurse. Most of these hospitals are smaller and may be operating on a restricted budget to hire staff to cover around the clock. At this point the Professional Resource Network team came up with a solution by providing pharmacist’s coverage to review and process orders from a remote location during closing hours. Besides order processing, RPS pharmacists are also available to provide drug information to the Nurses and other medical staff. RPS uses modern communication tools to ensure uninterrupted flow of information between the hospitals and the pharmacists at remote locations. This type of pharmacy service will require only a fraction of the cost of traditional staffing. RPS provides a helping hand for the Hospitals thriving to close the gap in meeting the JCAHO standards. RPS enhances the medication safety of hospitals and at the same time frees up their pharmacy staff to focus on other critical services. Due to the increasing cost of recruiting and maintaining Pharmacists, RPS is the best and most economical solution to providing continuous 24 hour a day pharmacy service.
